TAYLOR, Utah — David Weekley Homes plans to start building single-family homes at Taylor Crossing, a new community in Weber County's growing west side. The builder announced the community on Oct. 13 and said construction will begin soon.
Taylor is an unincorporated community about 3.5 miles west of Ogden. Taylor Crossing will feature six floor plans with open-concept layouts. The community includes a park with pickleball courts, a playground and a gazebo. Students will attend Weber School District schools.
The company has not released the number of homes, lot sizes, home sizes, prices or a model-opening date. It also did not name the land developer.
Weekley's Utah push
Taylor Crossing is one of three Utah communities David Weekley Homes lists as coming soon. The others are Echo Prairie in Erda, in Tooele County, and a new phase of Beacon Pointe in Saratoga Springs.
The Houston-based builder entered the Salt Lake City market in 2013. In June 2026, it closed its 2,000th home in the area, at the Terraine community in West Jordan. Rod Staten is president of its Salt Lake City division.
Nationally, David Weekley Homes was founded in 1976, builds in 19 markets and has closed more than 130,000 homes.
What it means for local trades
Taylor Crossing extends Weekley's Utah footprint north into Weber County. For subcontractors in the Ogden area, a national builder starting a new community nearby can mean new production work close to home. How much work depends on the lot count, which the builder has not shared.
