Privacy policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This page explains what Hello Contractor News collects when you visit, and why.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

We show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google’s ad settings, and learn more in how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

We measure traffic with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it doesn’t set cookies, use local storage, or fingerprint your browser. It counts page views and referrers in aggregate.

A search results page carries your search words in its address, so Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google’s ad code can see them like any other page address.

Server logs

Like most websites, our server keeps a technical log of the requests it receives: the page asked for (including clicks through our links to other sites and on sponsored ads), the time, your IP address and your browser’s name and version. We use it only to keep the site running and to stop abuse. It stays on our own server, is kept for no more than 30 days, and isn’t sold or shared with advertisers.

Ad counting

For ads we sell directly, we count how many times each ad is shown and clicked, as totals per ad. Those totals carry no cookie, no IP address and nothing else that identifies you. To stop scripts inflating those counts, and to slow automated sign-in, password-reset, search and outbound-link requests, we keep a count of requests per IP address. Those counts are kept for up to a day, then deleted.
