Bridgeland, the big master-planned community in northwest Houston, now has a neighborhood built just for active adults.
Del Webb Bridgeland scheduled its official grand opening for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 21606 Denton Creek Drive in Cypress, Hello Cypress reported ahead of the event. The free celebration was billed with model home tours, live music, food and drinks, prizes, a putting green and free golf lessons.
It is the first active adult community in Bridgeland, which is developed by Howard Hughes Communities and covers 11,500 acres.
672 homes behind the gates
When Del Webb announced the project in February, it said the community would cover 190 acres and include 672 homes on 50- and 65-foot-wide homesites, according to the announcement posted by Bridgeland. Del Webb is a brand of PulteGroup, and the community is gated and aimed at buyers 55 and older.
"Del Webb Bridgeland represents an exceptional opportunity for active adults seeking a vibrant, amenity-rich lifestyle in one of the Houston area's premier master planned communities," said Bryan Hahn, PulteGroup's Houston Division vice president of land acquisition.
Steve Sams, senior vice president of master planned communities for Howard Hughes Communities, said the project "provides more choices for residents at every stage of life."
Prices and plans
Del Webb's community page lists homes from $414,990, with plans from 1,600 to 2,712 square feet. Every plan on the page is a single-story home. Base prices on the page run from $414,990 for the smallest plan to $589,990 for the largest one. Buyers can call the sales team at 832-772-2200 for current pricing.
There are two collections. The Distinctive Series starts at $414,990 for the 1,600-square-foot Prosperity. It also includes the Mystique at $439,990, the Palmary at $452,990, the Mainstay at $459,990 and the Prestige at $479,990. Those plans have two bedrooms and two-car garages.
The Echelon Series starts at $524,990 for the 2,179-square-foot Stardom, followed by the Stellar at $539,990, the Reverence at $569,990 and the Renown at $589,990. The Renown is the largest plan, with 2,712 square feet, three bedrooms and a three-car garage.
Some homes are already under construction. The page lists six quick move-in homes on Trophy Club Park Drive, priced from $525,240 to $594,950, with completion expected in November and December 2026. Those homes come with upgrades like extended covered patios, spa showers, tray ceilings and three sides of brick.
Behind the gates, the clubhouse will have a resort-style pool and spa pool, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, a fitness center, a movement studio, a golf simulator, an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven, fire pits, community garden spaces and a speakeasy-style lounge. A lifestyle director will run clubs, classes, fitness programs, group outings and seasonal events.
Residents also get access to the rest of Bridgeland, which has more than 3,000 acres of lakes, parks and green space and more than 250 miles of trails, according to the February announcement. Del Webb's page also points to stocked fishing lakes, kayak and paddleboat launches and a disc golf course. Bridgeland Central, the community's commercial district, has an H-E-B, urgent care and restaurants.
Why it matters for Contractors
A 672-home community is a long-running job. Del Webb said in February that model homes would be finished this fall, and the quick move-in homes now listed show production is already moving. With hundreds of homes still to come, local trades can expect steady work in Bridgeland for years.
Active adult homes have their own details. Every plan here is single story, so each house spreads its square footage across one floor, with a larger foundation and roof than a two-story home of the same size. The upgrades listed on the quick move-ins, from spa showers and tray ceilings to extended patios, laundry sinks and cabinets, full gutters and irrigation, show where much of the finish work goes.
The clubhouse is a commercial-style project on its own, with pools, courts, a fitness center and outdoor kitchens. That means work for pool builders, concrete crews and commercial finish contractors, too.
For subcontractors in Cypress and northwest Harris County, Del Webb Bridgeland is one more reason to keep a close relationship with the big production builders working in the area.
